About This Blog

Many intelligent and insightful people have observed that, more so than in recent memory, this is a time when we may need to become more self-reliant.

We believe that there is an increasing likelihood that, in the coming years more of us - in the United States and around the world - will experience the effects of a natural disaster, wildfires, severe weather, or effects attributed to global warming.

Other potential challenges that we may face are rolling blackouts or other consequences of a fuel shortage, terrorist attacks, a flu pandemic, or a downturn in the economy.

None of this is new. However, some of us believe that the number of individuals being affected by these situations may increase significantly in the coming months and years.

Therefore, it seems reasonable to take steps to become more self-sufficient, especially in regard to a safe source of water, a supply of food, and a reliable shelter - including a source of heat in cold climates.

In this Emergency Preparedness Blog, I'll describe the steps that I'm taking to become more prepared and more self-reliant.
