Wood Stove Accessories - Part 1

The above photo shows the coal shovel I use to remove the ashes from my wood stove.
Below is the ash shovel that came with a fireplace toolkit that I purchased before I knew better. I didn't realize that this shovel is more decorative than practical. It's too shallow to hold much ash and it's too long to easily manipulate.

Here's the poker and hearth broom that I use. There're each made up of three pieces - the broom (or poker end), the rod, and the handle. Due to repeatedly becoming hot and then cooling off, the poker end often gets loose and needs to be tightened. I've heard that this is not unusual with this type of poker. However, I think that wood stove tool kits can be obtained where each tool is all one piece. This avoids the problem of having the ends loosen up.
